Description
This calcite crystal cluster is from the Xianghuapu Mine in the Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field, Linwu Co., Chenzhou, Hunan Province China. This mine is described as a beryllium mine which contains 24 known minerals including clacite. It is a carbonate that contains the elements Ca, C, and O. This specimen consists of a crystalline calcite core matrix that is covered on all sides with elongated hob-nail like crystals. The crystals have red inclusions that give them a two-tone affect. This piece measures 4 1/4 x 3 3/8 x 2 3/4 inches or 117 x 86 x 71 mm.
