Description
These calcites crystals are from the Elmwood Mine in Carthage, Smith County, Central Tennessee Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, Tennessee, USA.This mine contains three shafts called the Elmwood, Cumberland, and Gordonsville. It has an entry slope called the Stonewall. They contain eleven different minerals including sphalerite which is the primary ore. This piece consists of a plate or matrix of complex sphalerite crystals that host small calcites. This piece is a large miniature that measures 2 1/8 x 1 1/2 x 1 3/8 inches or 53 x 28 x 35 mm.
