These brochantite crystals are from the Milpillas Mine in Cuitaca, Mun.de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico. Mining at this locale began in 2006 with the extraction of copper minerals. Thirty-six mineral species have been identified at the mine including world class brochantite. It is a secondary copper sulfate containing the elements Cu, S, O and H.  This specimen is a world class plate of  crystals. They range in size from silken to tooth pick size crystals They are opaque to translucent and are green to emerald in color. This piece measures 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches or 70 x 70 x 45 mm.
