Description
This morganite crystal is from the Skardu Area in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Morganite is the pink gem variety of beryl and is named after JP Morgan who was an avid mineral collector. This is a large crystal with feldspar and minor tourmaline crystals attached. It is quite gemmy and has a glassy luster. The crystal face has minor remnant albite crystals embedded in it. This piece measures 3 x 2 x 2 5/8 inches or 76 x 50 x 68 mm.
