Description
This bertrandite geode is from the Spor Mountain deposit in the Thomas Range, Juab County, Utah, USA. This is a beryllium deposit that contains five different minerals including bertrandite and its gem variety named Tiffany Stone. Tiffany stone is a fine grained variety of fluorite with impurities of bertrandite, chalcedony and quartz. Geode type formations such as this are uncommon and much sort after. It has a core filled with a combination of bertrandite, chalcedony, fluorite and quartz crystal formations. All sides and surfaces of this piece are polished to a gem luster. It measures 4 x 3 1/4 x 1 11/16 inches or 102 x 82 x 42 mm.
