This barite or baryte on sulfur is from the Machow Mine in Tarnobrzeg, Podkarpackite, Poland. This mine contains 6 mineral species including the element sulfur and the sulfate barite which are both found in vug filled layers of limestone. This piece consists of a thin sulfur crystal matrix that is topped with clusters of blade-like tabular barite crystals. This piece measures 2 x 1 3/4 x 1 5/8 inches or 2 x 45 x 41 mm.
