Description
This baryte, or barite, is from Lushi County in the Sanmexia Prefecture, Henan Province, China. This locale encompasses a large area that contains fifty-five different minerals including barite. It is a sulfate and it contains the elements Ba, S and O. This specimen consists of a multi-terminated, complex, crystal with secondary crystals attached. It has a brilliant luster and it has intact and complete surfaces on all sides. The rear has clusters of stacked barites. This piece measures 2 1/4 x 1 7/8 x 1 3/16 inches or 57 x 47 x 30 mm.
