These azurite crystal rosettes are from the Daye Copper Mine in the Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China. This is an iron and copper mine that contains over 25 types of minerals including azurite. It is a secondary mineral found in oxidied copper deposits. It is also a carbonate that contains the elements Cu, C, O and H. This is an outstanding pair of rosette type formations of azurite. They consist of accicular clusters of well defined crystals. They have a rich prussian-blue color and a vitreous luster. This piece measures 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches or 57 x 38 x 32 mm
