Description
This Azurite crystal specimen is from the Phelps Dodge mine in Morenci, Copper Mountain District, Shannon Mountains, Greenlee County, Arizona. This large open pit mine contains over 70 different mineral species including the copper carbonate azurite which contains the elements Cu, C, O and H. This piece is a rosette type formation made up of petal like tabular crystals. This piece measures 1 5/8 x 1 5/16 x 7/8 inches or 41 x 33 x 22 mm.
