Description

This anatase is from the Kharan District in Balouchistan, Pakistan. This area contains pegmatites and alpine type deposits that are worked by the local residents for specimen recovery. There are 19 different minerals found there including the thee types of titanium oxide; anatase, brookite and rutile.This specimen consists of a druse quartz and albite crystal covered matrix that hosts at least three, gun-metal blue, anatase crystals. They have a mirror luster and modified habits. The longest crystal is 8 mm long which is large for the species. This piece measures 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 inches or 57 x 57 x 32 mm.
