Description
These anatase crystals are from the Kharan District in Balouchistan, Pakistan. The area contains pegmatites and alpine type deposits that are worked by the local residents for specimen recovery. There are 19 different minerals found there including the thee types of titanium oxide; anatase, brookite and rutile. This specimen consists of a mostly quartz matrix that hosts large (for the species) anatase crystals. The anatase have a gun metal blue color and a metallic luster. The largest crystal is double terminated and measures 9 mm across. This piece measures 4 1/4 x 3 x 1 inches or 113 x 77 x 25 mm
