Description

This anatase is from the Kharan District in Balouchistan, Pakistan. This area contains pegmatites and alpine type deposits that are worked by the local residents for specimen recovery. There are 19 different minerals found there including the thee types of titanium oxide; anatase, brookite and rutile.This specimen has a matrix that is covered with a mix of druse quartz, anatase and albite crystals that are partially covered or included with greenish chlorite. It in turn hosts two larger double terminated anatase crystals that are gun metal blue with a bright metallic luster and fine horizontal striations. Both are complete, intact and free of damage.The larger crystal is 8mm in its longest dimension. The piece measures  2 3/8 x 1 1/8 x 1 inches or 60 x 28 x 25 mm.
