Description
This anatase is from the Kharan District in Balouchistan, Pakistan. This area contains pegmatites and alpine type deposits that are worked by the local residents for specimen recovery. There are 19 different minerals found there including the thee types of titanium oxide; anatase, brookite and rutile.This specimen consists of a chlorite included quartz crystal plate that hosts calcite crusts and several anatase crystals. The primary crystal (as shown in photo 1) measures approximately 7 mm long. This piece measures 3 1/2 x 2 1/8 1 1/8 inches or 88 x 53 x 28 mm.
