Description
This anatase is from the Kharan District in Balouchistan, Pakistan. The area contains pegmatites and alpine type deposits that are worked by the local residents for specimen recovery. There are 19 different minerals found there including the thee types of titanium oxide; anatase, brookite and rutile. This specimen consists of a vesicle filled albite and quartz matrix that hosts two large anatase crystals and some secondary smaller ones. The largest crystal measures 8 mm in its’ longest dimension. The piece measures 3 x 2 x 1 1/4 inches or 76 x 50 x 32 mm.
