Description
This analcime is from Amethyst Cove in the Bay of Fundy, Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada. This locale contains fissures and cavities in the sea cliffs that contain up to15 different mineral species including analcime. It is a member of the zeolite family and it contains the elements Na, Al, Si, H and O. This piece can be displayed form all sides and it has a small attachemnt point on the bottom. The largest crystal is 3/4 ” or 20 mm across. They are well defined, somewhat translucent, white and have a vitreous luster. This piece measures 2 1/8 x 1 7/16 x 1 1/2 inches or 54 x 36 x 38 mm.
