This complex amethyst crystal is from the Goboboseb Mountains, Brandberg Area, Daures, Erongo Region, Namibia. The Goboboseb Mountains cover a large area encompassing hundreds of square miles. It contains several famous deposits that produce different varieties of quartz crystals including amethyst. This is a double terminated amethyst crystal floater with an altered former attachment point on one end (photo6). It has terminated surfaces on all sides. It displays complex growth, a glass luster, and zones of smokey quartz. It can be displayed or viewed from several sides or angles. It is a small cabinet sized piece that measures 2 1/8 x 1 3/4 x 1 1/8 inches or 60 x 45 x 28 mm.
