This albite is from Soa Jose da Safira in Minas Gerais, Brazil. This area is in the Aimores Pegmatite District and contains several mines that mine primarily for the recovery of gemstones and mineral specimens with other accessory minerals including feldspar. Albite is a variety of feldspar and cleavelandite is a variety of albite .It is a silicate and contains the elements Na, Al, Si and O. This specimen consists of a cluster of large, translucent to transparent cleavelandite crystals that has clusters of silver mica accenting the piece. the cluster. It is terminated on all sides and has a healed former attachment point at the base. This piece measures 2 3/4 x 2 1/2 x 2 inches or 70 x 63 x 50 mm.
