Thia large ferberite crystal is from the Panasqueira mines locale in Covilha, Castelo Branco District, This is a large tin-tungstun mine that contains 87 different minerals. It is famous for the many outstanding mineral specimens found there including its ferberite which was originally named wolframite. This piece consists of a tee-shaped quartz crystal cluster that hosts a lustrous spearhead shaped ferberite crystal. It measures 2 13/16 x 2 5/8 x 1 3/16 inches or 72 x 66 x 56 mm.
